You ever see a cowboy so serious, so full of swagger, that you just know he’s begging to be pranked?

Well, let me tell you about the time we pulled off the most savage, most saucy, most legendary prank in cowboy history.

It all started with Jake – our friend who takes his cowboy persona way too seriously. Every weekend, he shows up at the plaza in full outfit: boots, hat, belt buckle the size of a dinner plate. Even walks around saying things like “Y’all seen my horse?” and “This town ain’t big enough for the both of us.”

So naturally, we had to take him down a peg.

And what better way than with a burger challenge… with extra sauce. 😏

The Setup

We told Jake there was a film crew looking for “authentic cowboys” to feature in a BBQ commercial. Of course, his ego kicked in.

“Commercial? Y’all need the real deal. Let me grab my hat.”

Perfect.

We met at Bobby’s BBQ Barn, where we secretly worked with the staff to prepare The Sauce Bomb: a double beef burger soaked in ghost pepper BBQ sauce, hot mayo, ketchup, mustard, and some secret fiery chili paste that smelled like danger.

We sat him down, turned on a fake camera, and said:

“Alright, Cowboy Jake. The director wants a slow-motion bite of you enjoying this burger. Make it dramatic.”

He nodded, took off his hat respectfully, and picked up the sauce-drenched monster with both hands.

The Bite Heard Around the Plaza

First bite — fine.

Second bite — a little twitch in his eye.

Third bite — BOOM. That sauce kicked in like a stampede.

He froze.

Sweat instantly poured down his face.

He started blinking fast. His nose ran. His lips turned red.

“Mmm-mmm!” he tried to say, tears streaming.

“This… this is part of the commercial, right?!”

We couldn’t take it anymore. Everyone around BURST into laughter.

That’s when it happened…

He grabbed his hat, waved it like he was riding a wild bull, and yelled:

“Y’ALL SET ME UP! MY MOUTH’S ON FIRE!!”

He ran outside, still chewing, trying to cool his tongue with the wind. A kid handed him a milkshake. Jake chugged it like his life depended on it.

The Aftermath

He came back with sauce all over his shirt, face, and even a splatter on his hat.

“You think this is funny?” he asked.

“Yes,” we said, wiping away tears.

“…Okay, it was kinda funny,” he admitted.

Now, every time he walks into Bobby’s, they playfully shout,

“Extra sauce for the cowboy?”

And you better believe he double-checks every burger before he takes a bite now.

So yeah…
